They are organized around producers organizations and breeding unions, but particularly the agricultural cooperatives, in Aksaray Province. There are 80 agricultural development, 32 irrigation and 1 aquaculture cooperatives, as well as 3 breeders' and 13 producers' associations.

 

Plant Production

 

Socio-economic structure of the province is based on agriculture and livestock. The agricultural area in Aksaray is 406,632 hectares, which constitutes 50.8% of the total land. The remaining 49.2% are meadows, pastures, degraded forest land and nonarable forests.  Cereals, legumes, industrial plants, tuberous plants, fruits and vegetables are grown in agricultural areas. According to TURKSTAT data, the most produced plant products in Aksaray in 2019 are given in the table below.

Livestock

 

In the province, livestock is carried out together with plant production.  Aksaray province takes an important place among the surrounding provinces in terms of the number of bovine animal.  Support policies for livestock, setting up of breeding associations, supporting cooperatives that will implement livestock projects and promoting fodder plant cultivation, and training studies for the generalization of artificial insemination for the breeding of animal assets have accelerated animal husbandry. Projects such as development of livestock, development of meadow-pasture and production of fodder plants, combating animal diseases and pests, milk collection and processing are maintained for the sake of the sector, funded by either general budget or private sources. There are 25 milk/meat (packet milk, fresh cheese, butter, kasar cheese, milk powder, fresh meat, sausage, roasting etc.) processing facilities in the province, SÜTAŞ is one of the foremost of those as a national company. As such, investments in dairy farming and breeding cattle enterprises in the province become attractive.

 

10 reasons for agriculture and agriculture based industrial investments are listed below;

3. Easy and constant supply of quality roughage (clover and silage corn),
4. Wide agricultural lands,

8. The cooperative establishment rate of producers is quite high,

10. The railway project in the province has been included in the program.
